Hannah Legatzke

>Hannah Legatzke studies how tourism influences local livelihoods and community empowerment within the Maya Biosphere Reserve in northern Guatemala. Through a collaboration between the Center for Integrated Natural Resources and Agricultural Management (CINRAM), directed by Dr. Dean Current, and Rainforest Alliance in Guatemala, Hannah conducts surveys and interviews with residents of community-managed forest concessions and buffer zone communities. She will spend the 2021-22 academic year conducting fieldwork with funding from the Yudof Fellowship and UMN Thesis Research Travel Grant.
