Luiza Lucena Wins Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Competition

Luiza Lucena (current Master's and rising PhD student, advisor Dean Current) received several recognitions in Critique and Contest, a national communications and journalism competition for Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow members. Students have their work analyzed by professionals while competing with other members across the United States. Luiza took first place in the logo design competition; her winning submission was developed to help effectively communicate her research project involving the marketing of non-timber forest products in the Maya Biosphere Reserve, Guatemala.

There were a total of 538 entries across 17 schools. Luiza took another first place prize in the plant photography competition, a second place prize in the people photography competition, and finally a ninth place prize in the animal photography competition.
